It feels as if we have been away for a very long time, but in fact it is only a couple of weeks.
There has been long summerevenings, days of rain and reading, meeting friends and hunting for old windows. This past week has been as summery-perfect as you could ever ask for. Sunny, warm, just windy enough to make a nap in the hammock in the shadow perfect and not to cold. I have been reading wast amounts of books, knitting and acutally finishing a beautiful woollen sweater for Little V. The pattern is called "Trolludden" and is designed by my dear friend Sara Toreld over at Grimslatt.se. The yarn is out of the fleece we sheared last autumn, that is a great feeling and a truly gorgeous yarn. Soft and shiny, and a lovely knit!
Yesterday I finished the sweater and Little V ran of when he tried it on, before I even had time to secure all the threads. He sat in the hammock for a long time and seemed to enjoy himself.
Sad enough I was not able to teach at Stickstämman as I had planned. Apparently I catched a gastric catarrh and I still don´t feel quite well. No coffee or stress and hardly no standing up for me for some time.
I am planning to spend this next three weeks of summer by working a couple of days and hours now and then, planning short and longer adventures and by finishing up some new Grimslätt patterns.
For those of you who bought the Grimslätt mitten kit: as pointed out by one of you there was an error in the chart! I was to blind staring at the pattern, and did not realize that the error was right in front of me, but on the chart. I hope that you have been able to finish your mittens, and if you have not - I will fix the pdf and mail it to you. Thank you Mia, for noticing!
How have you been? I have some pics to show you, but you will have to wait.
Take care!

Here I am!
Little V got skiis for christmas and he LOVES them. So there was alot of skiing. Back in Stockholm we are still waiting for winter; as in snow.
The main reason for me being so happy these days is, besides health and great family/friends, the fact that I start my new Very Exciting job on the 1st of March :-) I will tell you more about this, of course - but in short I will take care of and be in charge of a beautiful house; craft workshop and school. There are workshops in weaving, ceramics, fusing, painting, embroidery painting furniture and beyond. AND there is a wonderful garden...
May I present- Hantverksgården Skogsbo, which is a part of Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan; SV Stockholm. There will be a blog soon!
I am SO happy!
Take care!
A note: there is ONE Grimslättmitten-kit left, the pattern is in swedish and if you are interested, send me an email asap. There will be more Grimslätt-patterns out this spring!

Hi there everyone. There is alot of things going on; jobwise, healthwise and--- jobwise. And I have made some rather bad planning. For which I am suffering. The trip to Grimslätt was great, as always and I feel blessed to be able to return there - hopefully we will be back in a month or so. It is time to go to bed; but I will give you some pics. Take care!

The earth and water-sweater
I have actually got something off the needles this past week. It was a fast and fun knit, Valdar second one. Can´t wait until Valdar can try it on.

Pattern: "Barntröja med rund hals" by Nina Sagulin
Yarn: Noro Kureyon
Needles: 5 mm
Tomorrow afternoon we are leaving for Bohuslän and Grimslätt. It is time to shear the sheep. We will be back next week. Hopefully I will finish Lady E, or at least almost finish -due to the long carride...

Still tired
It is no more exciting than a cold. I inherited one. So, I mostly spent this weekend in my bed - reading, sleeping, knitting and reading to Valdar. Tomorrow I will start as a trainee at one of my favourite shops in Stockholm: Afro Art. I will also appear as a guest-blogger at Kravallslöjd next week, starting tomorrow. Kravallslöjd translates into something like "Riotsloyd" or "Riothandi-craft". It will be in Swedish, but I might translate bits and pieces into english and put it up here. It will be a inspiring and interesting week! My cold sadly compelled me to miss both a long wished-for birthday and a gettogether with the Spinning Guild in Uppsala.
And some pictures.
I am SO happy about this yarn! Bought it from the owner of Herrviks Gård at the Woolday last weekend. The yarn is spun i Estonia from the pälsfår and finullsfår they own, but the farm is situated about 100km from where we live.
Hopefully the dark brown one will turn into a faroe-shawl in a while. I have been searching for the Perfect Yarn. This just might be it.

This is a close up of one of my WIPs. A shawl knitted from single ply yarn from Grimslättgård - frequently blogged here! Hopefully I will be able to present some kind of pattern in a while. I am trying to unravel the copyrights concering this technique.

My still feverish, but always happy, Valdar.
Time to have some tea again. Bought some LOVELY jewelery this Friday. I have to show you all soon. I am looking for the perfect sockpattern - any suggestions? Two balls of Kaffe Fassett Regia and one ball of Opal - one pattern each please, socks for me :-). Maybe I finally got the sockbug? Finished a pair of socks for Valdar today and I think I actually like it (she said, quite surprised)!
Do check out Rob Ryan and his WONDERFUL prints, found him through Camilla Engman. And, if you need any inspiration regarding pathwork - Rosa Pomar is always a goog place to start.

We left Stockholm about a week ago for Bohuslän. A couple of close friends got married and held a wonderful ceremony and dinner by their house. Since we brought Valdar (at first we were not going to) we did not have to hurry home - so here we are.
We are staying at another couple of dear friends and their two children, which is great for Valdar. They own a farm - mostly sheep (Gotländska utegångsfår), poltery, cows and horses. Needless to say that we enjoy our stay deeply. The farm is called Grimslätt <-- visit their site! Today Sara and Markus received three large packages of..... YARN and WOOL! They send their wool to be spun at Solkustens Ullspinneri. Mostly it is 100% lambswool, 1 ply and 2 ply. This far I´ve tried to knit a 40 x 180 cm shawl using the knittax - a knitting machine (vad fasen heter det på engelska? Stickmaskin liksom) and I love the yarn! Soft, oh so soft.
Trying out some lacepatterns using the 1 ply aswell. Very exciting!

Knitting a shawl. A shawl in one afternoon :-) Sweet.
